Missoula
You mean I get to shower!?

After leaving Bridger Bowl and battling the nasty winds of Montana, we arrived at Josh Allen’s home in Missoula, Montana. The government recently sent Josh to Missoula to work on a big trial, which works out well since Josh is from Missoula. He was kind enough to invite us to come stay at his family’s place, which is a 30 acre chunk of land on a hillside outside of the city. We were more than happy to take him up on the offer. Even better, I got to have my first shower in nine days! Yes, we are stinky bastards.

After a huge meal of Josh’s homemade chili the night before, Nate and I were ready for some more backcountry ski adventures. The only problem was that it had rained a few days earlier and killed all the snow. Undaunted, we went out in search of the white stuff and managed to find some at the top of Lolo pass. It was actually snowing and we didn’t have a map or a clue of what was out there, but it looked skiable so off we went. After slogging uphill for an hour or so, we reached the top and just like that the storm dissipated. We got fresh powder turns the whole way back down.

The next morning Josh took his time getting in to work, which meant we had a few hours to do something fun. The eventual decision was to play some Frisbee golf around the property. Even though most holes involved a “you see that tree over there? No, not that one, the green one?” we had a grand old time. We even worked our way up to the top of the property, which made for a huge downhill huck on the last few holes. All too soon, the game was over and Josh had to actually go to work. We said goodbye and jumped back in the van for one of our last stops on the roadtrip (yes, it’s coming to the end, and I’m very sad) in Sandpoint, Idaho, Nate’s hometown.
